Miscommunication and Business Failure

When you are working from home
miscommunication could be the aftermath of what was understood by your
readers in your online marketing message. surely, it is not the best way to make
money at home online. There's a right way and a wrong way to anticipate your
market. The wrong way is if your marketing message conveys that you are not on
their side and that you are only here to make a quick buck.
All self respecting company owners will tell you that doing that
is suicide and is as deadly to your company as kryptonite is to superman. If you
really want to maximize online profits by getting increased web site traffic,
then drive that traffic online with the help of increased business education and
from a trusted entrepreneur coach. That will help avoid many of the deadly
online business mistakes from the very beginning. If your miscommunication
continues as above, I am certain that it only gets worst from there. Our
capitalism system thrives when you start really listening to your readers. (Ref.
article)
Note: Here's a friendly suggestion, make social networks and
viral marketing a staple in your marketing and advertising plans. It has been
known to increase Web site traffic when you actively participate. They are
becoming the best communication tools in cyberspace and increasing in popularity
amongst Web company owners seeking a successful eBusiness leading to their
financial independence.
Barricades to productive communication are commonplace when new
company owners begin from scratch. Start with the company startup fundamentals
step by step. It is crucial that the new company owner do quite a bit of Web
business research before sending their messages to anyone. This research and
some old fashioned entrepreneur education will keep your communications from
becoming garbage because your communications are sending the wrong message.
Nubies should get into the habit of not simply focusing on
content, optionally, they should really focus on the feelings that they
engender. In other words, effective communicators should be able to evade
getting caught up in the content of another's message and get to the feelings
behind their message.
CONTENT- the topics or matter treated in a written or spoken
work.
CONTENT is the "thing'' behind the message. Content is the
"what'' of a message. It is the topic or subject of a message. It is sometimes
worth laden.
In your (so called) easy home based business you should be quite
aware of miscommunication effects and the feelings it elicits. And you should
also use good balanced content management judgment by centering your thoughts on
the reader's feelings. Like in my message about the barricades to effective
communication in an Internet based home business, that content can conjure up
positive or negative opinions; it can elicit strong or weak emotional reactions.
Disagreements and arguments sometimes are centered on the content of messages.
Being right or wrong are content expressions. Winning or losing is the outcome
of content "focused communication. (ref. James J. Messina, Ph.D. & Constance
Messina, Ph.D.)
Hurt or bad feelings can arise as a result of content "oriented
communication. Content is important because it involves work, finances, sex,
children, jobs, homes, cars, religion, time, politics, school, fashion, etc.
Over" concentration on content can lead to interpersonal stagnation and stress"
related illness. Ignoring content , however, can lead to confusion and a lack of
problem" solving goals with the appropriate corrective action being taken.
Clearly a balance is needed.
Concentrating on Content in communications have three
miscommunication perils in your company's communication strategy:
1. Miscommunication: Parallel Listening
Parallel listening is a "discounting'' of the speaker by
ignoring feelings being expressed and adding only to the flow of content, even
when it is relevant to the subject being discussed. Parallel listening normally
results in a listener ignoring the feelings behind what is being discussed by a
speaker, leading to the speaker's discouraging impression of being turned off.
2.Miscommunication: Jumping to Assumptions
The second peril of concentrating on content to the exclusion of
feelings is jumping to the assumption that you know what the other is talking
about and feeling. Discussing "things'' with no effort to clarify "feelings''
can lead to disastrous results. For example, two people can be talking
objectively about getting pregnant with the result that the wife gets pregnant.
Unfortunately, the one who didn't want to get pregnant had feelings ignored
because they were not openly expressed. The ignored person can build up
displeasure and hurt, which someday could blow up into a communication
predicament.
3. Miscommunication: Competition for the Control of Thinking
The third pitfall of focusing on content is the competition for
who is smarter, more intelligent, has more common sense, and knows more facts.
People who communicate only at the content level can fall into the "who's best''
and "who's right'' trap. One" upmanship in communication is often the result of
being content oriented. This discounting of the other's intelligence, knowledge,
and common sense can result in alienation, isolation, lack of trust, and lack of
respect between people
[Advantages of effective communications in your company and
avoid the miscommunication errors]
1. Miscommunication: Effective Listening
People who focus on the feelings of messages being sent provide
others with nonjudgmental approval. This helps the others feel listened to,
cared about, and understood. In order to "hear'' the feelings of others, a
person must listen not only with the head, but also with the heart. Feelings are
the tools by which people communicate with one another. Having one's feelings
listened to makes a person feel respected, accepted, and brings people closer
together.
2.Miscommunication: Effective Responding
A second positive outcome of "feelings focus'' is facilitative
responses shared by a person who encourages others to keep going communicating
openly and trustingly. Responses that attempt to go back to the speakers "the
feelings behind the message'' giving a mirror for the speakers to look at in
order to clarify how they feel about an issue. This clarification of feelings
concerning the message can lead to mutual understanding and respect, resulting
in better communication.
3. Miscommunication: Productive Problem Solving with Effective
Communication
(Effective Communication is
centered around feelings and emotions (Ref.
article)
Effective listening and
facilitative responses result in a third benefit of
focusing on feelings: productive problem solving.
Conflicts and immobilization often result not just from
disagreement over content but more importantly, because
one or both parties sense that their feelings are being
ignored or discounted. Productive problem solving is not
purely content focused, rather it includes and values
the feelings of both parties concerning the issue at
hand. By valuing their feelings, both parties feel cared
for, understood and accepted. This provides the energy
for creative problem solving and attaining mutually
beneficial solutions.

Miscommunication from new company owners in our industry
with regular frequency miscommunicate their interests to
their market and reduce the likelihood of increased
sales. Why ? You ask. They were told that, "You can
begin making money online very simply; you can start
with little or no start-up entrepreneur education,
capital & can begin immediately making thousands of
dollars per month."
Now the internet based home business newbie is
filled-to-the-top with all the hype, now ignores caution
and digs right in. This is the first of five barriers to
effective communication in an Internet based home
business. The Internet based home business newbie also
relies on the flawed information without even verifying
its legitimacy. That's part of the reason why we have a
55% small business failure rate today. (as cited by the
Small Business Administration)
The first barrier to effective communication in your
unbridled business communication strategy are two-sided,
first, the newbie got faulty information and secondly
they then relied on the suspect information. It has been
said that, "If it sound too good to be true, its
probably not true." This is miscommunication error
number one. To keep you from being on the 55% failures
list, do some research the source of the information to
validate its legitimacy. I would ask them, "What makes
you an expert & what are your credentials?" I make them
answer me before I take their bait. To me, its better to
err on the side of caution.
The next barrier to effective communication in an
unbridled business communication strategy for the
company owner is when starting a business, it is about
not understanding the role of effective communication in
their entrepreneurial undertaking. The truth is that all
companies must have to have an effective communication
component for management, sales, marketing, advertising
and customer service. Whichever you choose to be your
ultimate Web business model, the company must have one.
Miscommunication error number two.
The newbie has to without fail hone their communication
skills. If they don't, their advertising, marketing,
customer service and management of their company will
surely suffer. Miscommunication error number three. The
four major components of the entrepreneur home business
I mentioned above are the main barriers to effective
communication in a home business. Most newbies do not
know how to write effective ads & sales copy. They do
not know the formula (A.I.D.A) for writing good
effective advertising copy.
Many of the ads I get everyday sing, "I'm a newbie, would
you please buy my ˜X product/service and send your
friends too?" I do not even open an email any more
because the subject says it all. I open my inbox with my
index finger poised over the delete key. The fourth
barrier to effective communication for the newbie is
learning how to market. Somehow, the newbie thinks they
can sell. Being a salesman takes training along with
good communication skills. Miscommunication error number
four.
If they do it any other way they are repulsing their
prospects and customers. If you do not already know,
most people hate to be sold. They do not want to be
pitched and that is exactly what most newbies do first.
To remedy for being repulsed, you must master
communication & marketing. Marketing makes you
attractive to your market (prospects/customers). When
you market as apposed to selling, your marketing sorts &
sells for you so you do not have to actually sell your
prospects/customers into buying. When done right your
prospect/customers will sell themselves.
It all starts when you stop your miscommunication errors
and build your unbridled business communication strategy
from business startup basics, it is as simple as that.
Lastly, the last barriers to effective communication in
an unbridled business communication strategy is good
customer service. From the time your prospect has its
first contact with you, this is your golden opportunity
to interact with them. Miscommunication error number
five.
The law of attraction takes the first seat (your
brilliant marketing). Your objective is to ultimately
bond with them & with their permission, have an ongoing
relationship with them.(Ref. article) Without a lengthy
discussion, meet them where they are, human behavior
plays a significant part here. There will never be a
second chance for a first meeting with them.
So get it right from the beginning starting with your
Internet business mission statement. Be yourself, your
market has a second sense when it comes to you not being
genuine. So do not do it wrong! Character and trust
really count. If you do not do it right here, they will
drop you like a hot rock.
Running a business demands a great deal in the way of
initiative, hard work, self-discipline &
resourcefulness. Remember these barriers and start an
unbridled business communication strategy the right way.
Your business begins and ends with your business mission
statement along with a great business plan.
(Miscommunication is
the number one enemy of successful marketing)
