 Would you like to know how to get increased web traffic and drive traffic online to your websites? Well when I started online years ago, I had no idea that getting traffic to my website was such a necessary skill.  But it is imperative that you learn. It seems that everyday there is something new, social networks, viral marketing, local search like yellowpages and whitepages.

In a capitalism system as ours, (whether online or offline) your home business ideas must provide a traffic system that attracts visitors and converts them into buying customers. As time went on, I began to get some online business education from home business leaders in one of my online networking communities. They gave me a link to a free keyword tool to increase web traffic to begin making money online. They also said I should start a business journal to document my marketing actions as good business education. That was surely what I needed to stop some of the online business mistakes I had been making.

And after further research, I found that traffic generation actually starts from the keywords my visitors use to find what they are looking on the Internet. They use search engines, like Google search engine, Yahoo directory and other web site directories (theme directories). Many of those directories are niche oriented, such as clothing, camping, jokes, religion, etc.

So to make a long story short, I began searching for good keywords and began submitting my site in the niche directories related to my business and site theme. But be well aware that some of the directories have a cost when you submit your site to be included in their directories.

Of course some are free to submit, but choose wisely considering the benefit before submitting your site. I would also warn you to not submit your site to too many directories all at once. And by all means do not submit your online money making business affiliate links, it is a futile effort to try to get increased web traffic to your affiliate program replicated websites, as well as second tier domains. Lastly, one of the best ways to leverage your traffic efforts is to include a viral marketing campaign.
