Capitalism and entrepreneurship is becoming easier and easier since the Internet platform came into existence. The problem is that most business owners do not quite understand why their online businesses are failing.

1) They believe that they can generate a million dollars quickly in network marketing

 2) They believe that they are expert salespeople and know how to get positive cash flow to get increased web site traffic to their websites.

3) They believe their products/services are their business .

4) They believe their business is invincible, not knowing that most new businesses fail in the first 2-5 years and believe they are immune to that statistic .

5) They believe that they can build a legitimate web revenue generation system without investing in it or investing in their own personal growth.


 

If you follow those misguided beliefs then it is only a matter of time and you will be the next statistic within the endless loop of failure. I spend most of my time engaging students with business mentoring to reduce the likelihood that online business failure will not enter their businesses through knowledge and concerted action.

(The 5 senses sell, not you) 

I find that the best way to sell is to market in such a way that customers/prospects sell themselves. That way I am taken out of their buying decision until I am needed or wanted. A consumer's buying decision is based on emotion. If you elicit or trigger emotional responses to your products/services, you will sell more. Selling is an art and most people cannot sell.

Major reasons why online businesses fail stem from the boss having a lack of knowledge, lack of steady business cash flow, not investing in their own personal growth, spending their time selling & spending little or no time marketing properly. Also, there are those that do not have good business ethics. Good business ethics is critical for doing good business online or off.

Some company owners focus on their products/services not their customers, they talk to their prospects as though they owe them something or that they must purchase from them. In addition, they talk to their prospects as though their prospects know them well. If you have a good understanding of consumer behavior, then you know about consumer motivations and providing what they want, then all is needed is to simply over-deliver. That way they are obliged to do business with you and not your competition.

Sidebar: Our newest Internet millionaires are much younger these days. Depending on their business experience, they have a high need for control and want any advisor they work with to keep them totally informed, since they are new to being rich & learning as they go. Always knowing the importance of having skilled and dependable advisors in their corner.

In my humble opinion as an online business coach, on average, Internet millionaires hire their advisors through peer referrals and maintain at least 4+ advisors for their entrepreneur education. Knowledge is power and power is reserved for the few who assume it.
