understanding that success comes from hard work, next we
need a plan. The plan is called a business plan and mission
statement.

mission statements are an important part of your business
plan; when thoughtfully crafted a mission statement
increases efficiency, productivity and profitability. In
other words, it incorporates the business’ vision
reflecting your values and how you plan on living these out
(i.e. budgets, marketing plans, etc.) within the company.
Many mission statements are often full of buzzwords; if these are unfamiliar to you make sure you find out what they mean. Without planning there is a danger of getting sidetracked by your own ideas, idle thoughts, and even the competition. With good planning your goals are more concrete and helps to insure your business success. Write a simple business plan with your
business mission statement included. Include just enough
information to prompt taking immediate action. Avoid
becoming overwhelmed with too much planning and thus
paralysis by analysis may occur. Choose a descriptive name
for the business that creatively says exactly what the
business does. Mission statements should address the following statements: what you do, where you do it, for whom you do it, how you do it and why you do it. Define your vision- that is; answer the questions why do we exist? What do we want to become in the future? The vision commits your business to both a short- & long- term objective. With a defined vision there is no wavering. Define your simple mission statement- that is; answer the questions how am I going to do it? How am I going to get there (to the vision)? The mission statement tells you how it will accomplish its vision. Define your product or service- what do you plan to sell? Thoroughly analyze your product/services, your buyers, your competitors (and their possible actions and reactions), and your market before you decide which pricing strategy would best fit your business. Review pricing strategy by product, and by product line, on a regular basis to make sure that the fit remains the best. Know your costs- Answer the following: What are your client's costs? What is your profit?
