“Those are what we call shooting stars. In space there are rocks flying all around at a high rate of speed and as they enter the Earth’s atmosphere they burn up. So what you are seeing are those rocks burning up. Don’t worry, most of them never hit the ground.”

“Say pop, before I say my prayers tomorrow night, from my bedroom window I’m going to watch the space station & your ship come together. I really wish I could be there with you.”

“I feel the same way, but it is just too dangerous for you to go with me. I can do the next best thing though, before I reenter the Earth’s atmosphere, I promise I will say a special prayer to stay safe and look forward to seeing you again when I land.”

The next night after captain Waters finished his mission and began preparing to land the ship, some of the heat shield tiles came off of the under side of the ship rendering the ship unable to make a safe landing. Within the next descending orbit the ship will actually burn up as it hits the Earth’s atmosphere like a shooting star.

As the ship continues to heat up captain Waters began to pray, “Dear God in heaven…”

At that same moment his son was watching from his bedroom window and began looking for the space station and his dad’s ship amongst the stars. After a moment of scanning, he noticed the station and a single shooting star. After the star vanished, he also began to pray, “Dear God in heaven…”
